Mission Acceleration at Work: How STRIVE3 Strengthened a Beacon of Hope in Baghdad

"Strategy Connects. Story Moves. Results Last."

Some organizations need better fundraising. Others need better marketing. But the most transformative nonprofits need something much bigger: an integrated strategy that aligns vision, messaging, execution, and long-term growth.

That was the opportunity facing St. George's Anglican Church in Baghdad.

Already serving as Iraq's only operating Anglican church, St. George's had become a lifeline for thousands through free medical care, education, reconciliation initiatives, and community outreach. Yet sustaining and expanding those ministries required more than faithful leadership—it required a strategic framework capable of connecting the mission with the people who could fuel its future.

STRIVE3 partnered with American FRRME and Mosaic Middle East to provide exactly that.

Rather than launching another fundraising campaign, STRIVE3 applied its Mission Acceleration Blueprint™, a four-stage system designed to transform mission into momentum through Strategy, Story, Activation, and continuous Momentum.

This case study illustrates how each stage of the Blueprint helped accelerate one of the Middle East's most remarkable ministries.

Stage One: Strategy

Discovering the Opportunity Behind the Mission

Every successful campaign begins with clarity.

When STRIVE3 engaged with American FRRME and Mosaic Middle East, it quickly became clear that St. George's did not have an impact problem—it had an awareness problem. Canon Faiz Jerjes had built a remarkable ministry that welcomed Christians and Muslims alike, operating a free medical clinic, establishing educational programs, and fostering reconciliation in one of the world's most divided regions. Yet outside Iraq, relatively few potential supporters understood the breadth of that work.

STRIVE3's first responsibility was to discover where opportunity existed.

Through strategic planning sessions with American FRRME and Mosaic Middle East, we evaluated:

  • The existing ministry ecosystem
  • The long-term vision for St. George's
  • Current donor perceptions
  • Growth opportunities
  • Priority funding initiatives
  • The audiences most likely to become long-term ministry partners

The result wasn't simply a campaign, it was a strategic roadmap that aligned fundraising, communications, and ministry expansion around one unified vision.

Instead of asking, "How do we raise money?" The question became: "How do we build sustainable support for one of the most important Christian ministries in the Middle East?"

Stage Two: Story

Defining a Narrative Worth Joining

People don't invest in projects, they invest in purpose.

One of the greatest opportunities identified during the strategy phase was the need to reshape how St. George's was presented to prospective supporters. While many organizations communicate their immediate needs, lasting partnerships are built around a compelling purpose. STRIVE3 recognized that donors weren't simply being invited to fund a clinic or support a church—they were being invited to participate in a ministry that was restoring hope, healing, and reconciliation in Baghdad

Thus, the narrative became clear: St. George's wasn't simply surviving. It was thriving.

The church was treating nearly 2,000 patients every month through its free medical clinic. It had become a trusted educational partner for both Christian and Muslim families, and its ministries were actively rebuilding trust within fractured communities.

STRIVE3’s creative strategy intentionally positioned St. George's as a beacon of hope for Iraq, emphasizing long-term ministry rather than short-term relief. The campaign messaging highlighted practical expressions of Christ's love through healthcare, education, reconciliation, and compassionate service while inviting supporters to participate in sustainable transformation.

The story became the bridge between extraordinary ministry and extraordinary generosity.

Stage Three: Activation

Turning Strategy into Action

A compelling story only creates impact when it reaches the right audience.

With the strategy and messaging established, STRIVE3 developed and executed an integrated engagement campaign designed to cultivate meaningful relationships with major donors, foundations, and Anglican churches throughout the United States.

Rather than relying on a single fundraising appeal, STRIVE3 developed a coordinated engagement system that combined strategic planning, compelling storytelling, targeted communications, and personalized donor cultivation. Each element reinforced the others, creating a consistent experience that helped churches, foundations, and major donors understand both the immediate needs and the long-term vision for St. George's.

The campaign included:

  • Strategic campaign planning
  • Case-for-support development
  • Creative direction
  • Print and digital campaign assets
  • Major donor communications
  • Executive outreach
  • Follow-up email cultivation
  • Leadership meetings
  • Ongoing stewardship initiatives

Every touchpoint reinforced the same strategic narrative while guiding supporters toward deeper involvement. The campaign also emphasized targeted outreach to Anglican and Episcopal churches, with structured follow-up designed to build lasting partnerships rather than one-time contributions.

One particularly significant initiative was the Church Disciple Partner Program.

Rather than simply inviting churches to donate, the program invited congregations to become active partners in sustaining ministry in Baghdad. That strategic shift transformed financial support into enduring relationships and expanded the network of churches committed to St. George's long-term mission.

Activation wasn't just about communications. It was about creating a movement.

Stage Four: Momentum

Building Sustainable Growth

Many fundraising campaigns conclude once financial goals have been met. The STRIVE3 Mission Acceleration Blueprint™, however, is built on a different philosophy: sustainable growth begins after the initial campaign. By measuring results, refining strategy, and continuing donor engagement, organizations can build lasting momentum rather than relying on one-time appeals.

The STRIVE3 Blueprint emphasizes measuring impact, refining strategy, and building systems that continue generating momentum long after a campaign concludes.

The support generated through these efforts helped strengthen the ministries that define St. George's today. Resources helped sustain the medical clinic, educational initiatives expanded, community outreach continued, and relationships with churches and major donors deepened.

Perhaps most importantly, the partnership established a sustainable framework for future growth instead of relying on isolated fundraising efforts.

That distinction is at the heart of the STRIVE3 Acceleration Ecosystem: strategy creates mission clarity; story creates human connection; activation inspires response; momentum ensures lasting impact.

The Blueprint in Action

Looking back, it's easy to see why St. George's became such a compelling demonstration of the Mission Acceleration Blueprint™.

The ministry already possessed remarkable leadership.

Canon Faiz had a clear vision rooted in serving others through practical expressions of Christ's love. American FRRME and Mosaic Middle East brought deep regional relationships and a long-standing commitment to humanitarian work. STRIVE3's role was to unify those strengths through strategic planning, narrative development, integrated campaign execution, and long-term donor engagement.

The result was far more than a successful fundraising initiative. Through thoughtful strategy, compelling storytelling, and intentional campaign execution, American FRRME, Mosaic Middle East, and STRIVE3 helped create a sustainable support system that continues to strengthen St. George's ministry today. The partnership demonstrates what mission acceleration looks like in practice: aligning vision with strategy so that meaningful work can grow, endure, and reach more people over time.

Today, St. George's continues serving thousands of people each month through healthcare, education, reconciliation, and compassionate outreach—not because one campaign succeeded, but because strategy, story, and execution came together to create sustainable momentum.

That's the purpose of the STRIVE3 Mission Acceleration Blueprint™: not simply to help organizations raise more, but to help them grow stronger, connect deeper, and extend their impact farther than they could alone.
